Public good for a need by the people? Electricity infrustructure.

So glad someone is stepping forward on this. I have been trying to get action regarding this as the same is happening at the top of Anton Dr and another just yards away at Travis Dr, then on end of Marcy Rd. This continues all the way through the Park,as mentioned. My inquires into this had been pretty much, “too bad, Eversource has “opened these properties for 100 years (doubtful). I spoke most recently to the City Engineering dept to see if I could get a copy of a public notice about this but so far I have received nothing. Is there an environmental impact with these gigantic poles? Did anyone living near them receive notice? I doubt it. We just have to take whatever they throw at us. If you get any conversation going on this, please post. Fairfield and Southport were fighting some of this and I do not know how they made out.

I hear that in todays Post there is an article on this topic stating that Ct council agreed to move Fairfield/Bpt mono poles! Will this stop the destruction currently taking place in the North End?

Well, the mega poles are being put in place and not once did anyone give notice of what this project entailed or how it would impact our neighborhoods. The City knew all about this but not one elected official bothered to call an informational meeting. The North End in general is a mess. Do any of our Council people drive around and see how much negative change has impacted our quality of life? The answer is no.

I have seen our Mayor on News12 this week speaking on the monopoles and he has rightly called the poles “monstrosities “. I am however confused as to why his message did not include what has happened here in the North End, and only included the other parts of our City. Has he, or anyone for that matter seen for themselves what has happened here? it is outrageous. Main St received one right on the sidewalk, and within half a mile of my neighborhood there must be 7 that have gone up. Is the North End no longer if interest to or City government?

No one suggested that, Govinda. There should have been a public notice before they began this project open for questions and answers. Don’t know where you reside but 7 of these in my immediate area is a bit much since other areas are opposing and having their voices heard.

You are correct regarding listening to the public. I guess I'm just resigned to the fact that our voices don't matter since I have been to those meetings some years back by the town and SHU regarding quality of life in North Bridgeport. They didn't get us anywhere.

You are absolutely correct in this most recent comment. I totally get your perspective on being ignored on quality of life issues. We must keep trying and maybe sometime we will be taken seriously.
